This journal exists to document the truth concerning various witnesses and researchers who speak or are otherwise involved, or have been involved, with the JFK assassination. These witnesses are often enabled to speak, some for the first time, at the Conferences founded (2013) and hosted by Judyth Vary Baker, who is also a witness as to the innocence of Lee Harvey Oswald.
The following information offered here concerns Judyth herself, as negatively presented by researcher Greg Parker, with her response to his long attack piece from 2019. (This is Part One: his work was too large to answer in a single read)
:Parker writes: “… I will not pass comment on her writing ability apart from suggesting that, if not for the claims that the story is true, sales numbers would be dismal – which is the case with the vast majority of attempts to weave a fictional narrative around the events of November 22, 1963.”
==Parker claims I’m not a good writer, and masses me in with those who “weave a fictional narrative” — setting up the reader to see my writing as popular only because of the Kennedy assassination.==
Parker: Judyth’s timeline 1991 – 2000 Dec 1991: Oliver Stone’s JFK is released. It shows in detail, many of the aspects which would later be found in Judyth’s stories.
=-My family and friends know I mentioned that Lee Oswald and I were friends long before 1991, especially at the end of 1980, when 35 people at our New Year’s party heard me say so. This precedes Parker’s assumption-filled timeline by an entire decade.==
Parker: 1996 : Angela’s Ashes is published to wide critical and popular acclaim. It is a memoir written in the creative nonfiction genre by Frank McCourt. Judyth commences work in the English Faculty at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she meets Prof. Joe Riehl.
==Parker tries to ujnite the idea of ‘creative non-fiction’ with the new genre. he does not seem to realize that i was busy creating a new genre called progression Literature, or, the iterature of Denouement. It was all based on writing and had nothing at all to do with the Kennedy assassination, but he has to focus on that.
He also leaves out the fact that between 1994 and 1996 I got a degree in Creative Writing and Linguistics at the University of Central Florida with nary a thought of something called “Angela’s Ashes.” I wanted to develop my writing skills so I could properly tell Lee’s story. That is not a sin.
Parker doesn’t explain why I took a fellowship at University of LA at Lafayette. I was seeking witnesses and therefore moved to Louisiana. Fearing being recognized, I went under the fake name of AVARY/AVERY Baker.
Parker has no explanation for my deciding to move to Louisiana from Florida, or for my using a fake name. In his mind, everything I did was to make up a story. Using a fake name meant nothing to him because he did not know what it was like to live with threats of death. WHY would I do such a thing?==
Parker: Riehl has an interest in the Kennedy assassination and Judyth tells him of her “connection” to it via working at Reily’s. Riehl and Baker come to believe she has “repressed” memories which he helps her retrieve.
==I couldn’t remember names. There were many unpleasant and horrible memories that I had avoided thinking about for years, but I wasn’t saying that much to Dr. Riehl. Why? Because he was my Doctoral Director, a very political matter. I was going for a PhD in English literature, creative writing, and linguistics. Riehl oversaw my dissertation. Because he was in charge of it, I was afraid to reveal to him certain aspects about me and Lee, primarily because he sent me to John McAdams’ ugly newsgroup, which was hostile to Lee. I did not discover this about McAdams’ group until actually dealing with the members, who attacked me at once. Because of that event, I did not trust Dr. Riehl and did not share my real manuscript with him.
Instead, all he ever saw was the teaser manuscript I wrote for publishers to look at. I was not about to reveal my real manuscript to the man who introduced me to John McAdams’ newsgroup. I felt he had betrayed me.==
Riehl also suggests she take Luis Urrea’s Creative Nonfiction classes where she learns to organize her memories and reconstruct events she has “recovered” .
==This is nonsense. Riehl was interested in research. I took Urrea’s class because I had to, if I wanted credit in creative writing. I had a degree in anthropology and Urrea had published a book about poor Hispanics, with subject matter close to courses I had taken with the great anthropologist Margarita Melville. I took Urrea’s course in the same spirit. I have saved many papers from that class. We didn’t write about repressed memories. We wrote fiction. I’ll show the papers to anybody who wants to see them. They have nothing to do with repressed memories or recovering memories. Parker has made this up out of thin air. Only Urrea and Gaines taught creative writing classes. So I took classes with both of them. ==
PARKER: Urrea wrote about1998 : Does further creative writing study under the tutelage of famed African American author and Writer – In – Residence at the University of Louisiana, Ernest Gaines . Gaines’ novels are based in the rural folk culture in which he was raised.
==It was the anthropological angle that Gaines represented that was interesting to me. I also took a course in Cajun dialect in linguistics. All of these courses could be applied toward a Master’s in anthropology, making them of dual utility to me.==
Parker: 1999 : Angela’s Ashes goes into film production .
==Parker is fixated on ‘Angela’s Ashes’. I wasn’t. I never mentioned the work in any of my writings. We might say that Mr. Parker is deliberately making a link in the reader’s mind to imply that my writing is creative non-fiction, by repeating it all the time. ==
Parker: It opens in December and during that same month, Judyth is looking to hire someone to investigate and document “ her version of the Kennedy Assassination ”.
==Parker is making another story up out of nothing. What is this nonsense about hiring somebody to investigate my story? I never, ever offered money to anybody to help me investigate anything.==
Parker: She approaches recently retired Assistant US Attorney and ex – FBI agent , Gerald Bertinot .
==I didn’t know he existed. Somebody gave me his contact information.
Here is a portion of Gerald Bertinot’s statement from which Parker claimed that I was seeking to HIRE Bertinot:
Bertinot stated in a 2013 online piece that “she claimed to have been the lover of Lee Harvey Oswald… she must have sensed or heard that I was in search of a new career. After spending many hours conversing with her and looking over many of her documents, I was not overly impressed with her claims, and politely declined her overtures . ”
==I never dreamed of hiring anybody. I hoped to interest a reputable person in my story so he could help me find my witnesses. That is not a sin. Here is the entire article that Parker got his information from. Bertinot never mentions I wanted to hire him, only that I asked him to help me. Parker made that part up. I have placed the most important sentences in bold face;
THE QUESTION: Having just marked the anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy, my thoughts go back to December 1999 when I had the occasion to meet and converse with one Judyth Vary Baker, then a teacher in the English Department at USL (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). She was searching for assistance in investigating and documenting her version of the Kennedy assassination… She claimed to have been the “lover” of Lee Harvey Oswald. At that time I was a new retiree from the U.S. Department of Justice and she must have sensed or heard that I was in search of a new career. After spending many hours conversing with her and looking over many of her documents, I was not overly impressed with her claims, and politely declined her overtures. I have often wondered whether or not she was successful in publishing a book or articles containing her allegations. I must admit that her story was credible, containing much detail and knowledge of minute and detailed information…. I felt it better that I remain obscure and uninvolved in such a vast undertaking….Whatever happened to Judyth Vary Baker, who claimed that Oswald was a patsy and not the killer of the president? The last I heard, as of 2003, she was living in the Netherlands.

==At that time I had not yet found any of my witnesses. Now I have them. I also found more evidence files in a box my daughter had. I had not yet been able to obtain any of Lee’s time cards when I met Bertinot. I was hoping he would volunteer to try to obtain them for me, because the FBI held them, so I asked for his assistance. That is not a sin.==
Parker: “ New career”? “Overtures”? It sounds like her pitch included big plans and a big payoff.
==Parker’s malice is showing. I didn’t know anything about Bertinot starting a new career… somebody told me about him and that’s all.===
Parker: 2000 : Having been rejected by Bertinot, she is picked up on the rebound by prominent JFK researcher Martin Shackleford and sidekick ,[Dr] Howard Platzman.
==Parker’s timeline is completely twisted. He is off by seven months regarding when I contacted Shackleford and Platzman. They were on John McAdams’ newsgroup and in May of 1999, months before meeting Bertinot, I began corresponding with them because they defended Lee Oswald on McAdams’ forum. Parker is careless with his timeline because he is only interested in fabricating his own version of things, which doesn’t include being accurate.==
:Parker: Together with Joe Riehl and Lancer boss, Deborah Conway, they go to New Orleans and find Anna Lewis .
==I found Anna Lewis all by myself at the end of 1999, thanks to a student in one of my classes. Invited Riehl, Platzman and Shackelford to meet her in New Orleans. Platzman personally invited Debra Conway. I didn’t even know “Lancer” existed. She tried to take over everything and began filming Lewis, taking Shackelford’s place as she said her camera was better. Then she took the film and kept it four years, until I threatened to sue her.==
They videotape an obviously heavily prepped Lewis “testifying” to double dating with Oswald and Baker .
==Obviously heavily prepped? Mr. Parker is inserting an opinion. She wasn’t prepped at all. She came driving a pickup truck and was tired and wearing a t-shirt. I was shocked when Conway insisted on taping her before she could even get dressed in something nice. Conway asked questions as she filmed. When Anna told everybody I was Lee’s mistress, you can hear me objecting on the tape, that at the time we were dating together, we hadn’t actually started sleeping together yet… but later as I thought about it, it may have coincided with our last date together. Conway taped Anna out of the blue.
She had just arrived and had no time to change clothes even, before being filmed. So here is what she looked like (Anna to the right, next to Conway) :
Parker: Lewis however still manages to miss her lines and is constantly prompted by someone out of the field of view .
==The voice you hear ‘prompting’ Anna Lewis is that of Debra Conway, who is filming at the same time. A few times my voice breaks in, a very different voice.==
This experience cures Debra Conway of any further curiosity,
==Ridiculous. Conway brought me to visit her parents a few days later, as she was born in Louisiana. I spent the night there. Fir weeks, I thought she was my friend and exchanged many emails with her. But Conway kept the film and refused to give it back because it was evidence that the book she was writing with David Lifton was not accurate. She refused to give Sixty Minutes the original copy and sent them a copy too poor to use. Then she threatened Anna – who wrote to Shackelford and said she would never consent to be recorded again. Shackelford wrote to McAdams’ newsgroup:

Parker: 2003, Judyth’s story is included in an episode of Nigel Turner’s “ The Men Who Killed Kennedy ” . This episode becomes unavailable for viewing following criticism , but it only adds to the self – created aura of persecution and martyrdom she revels in.
==Threats to sue The History Channel resulted in three episodes being banned –Episodes 7-8-9. Mine was Episode 8, called “The Love Affair.” My witnesses were not included in the documentary, which surprised me. All three episodes implicated Lyndon Johnson. The LBJ family, Lady Bird Johnson, LBJ aide Jack Valenti, Eisener of Disney, former President Gerald Ford, and others got the episodes banned after being shown only 5 times in a 9-year contract. Even though it was just a teaser book to get publishers’ interest, he removed phrases in bold face that referred to the real book, making it impossible to show what was true and what was just filler, so he was fired. The teaser book was written to protect witnesses from being exposed and evidence from getting destroyed.==

and a cohort of researchers . Many of these continued to serve a purpose long after parting ways via being made the fall guys for a growing list of errors , inconsistencies and contradictions in her growing narrative. One example is that Peter Cox was blamed for the infamous Cancun debacle.
==Cox used the word “Cancun” for the meeting-place Lee and I picked out before I was able to prove Cancun existed at that time. Since then, Dr. Wyllys Andrews’ work in 1963 at Isla de Cancun for Tulane, where Lee and I saw his exhibit, that shows it had a hacienda, a coconut grove, and air strip. It was not a barren island as Parker and others claim.
Parker: Meanwhile Judyth was being courted by every conspiracy blogger, podcaster and radio show host in North America. It seemed the relentless attacks on her by arch conspiracy critic John McAdams and his friends were in fact, boosting her profile and popularity – the thinking being that if you are under attack by McAdams, you must be saying something right. The truth is though, that McAdams simply goes after the easy conspiracy targets .
· Since 2000, she also claims to have intermittently lived in exile in Europe due to h arassment and more seriously, attempts to injure or even kill her . Without being definitive, tyhe former has included the hacking of her computer to alter emails (I have had personal experience of that claim with her) and the theft of the hard – drive from her computer (why not just take the whole computer to make it look like your average theft?)…

Parker:… while the latter has included the placing of broken glass in a restaurant meal and a spider bite at an airport.

Parker: Judyth finally seems to have found a permanent home in the literary stable of Kris Mi lligan a t Trine – Day publishing . Trine – Day churns out conspiracy pabulum [sic] by the truckload. Since teaming with Milliga n , she has formed a company to produce JFK conferences throughout the year and as previously stated, has also amassed a huge following on Face book consisting mainly of those on the Christian Right along with others on the fringes – including paranoid anti – globalists and UFO freaks . When confronted with facts about Judyth, these people have proven impervious – typical of those with broken epistemology. · Her conferences have been very successful , and she has attracted people like Peter Dale Scott, Cyril Wecht and Dick Russell to give talks among other big names . She has done this partially by offering to pay all expenses for speakers – something other conferences have simply never been able to afford to offer.
==FACT: We pay travel expenses and hotel expenses. These expenses were paid by selling my book ME & LEE and using that money to bring in speakers who otherwise would never have had a chance to speak at a conference. ==
T h e speakers named here have been warned that she is a fraud , and that they should refuse any future offers . Unfort unatel, only Peter Dale Scott has heeded th at warning. As some of these people are on the board of CAP and others are CAPA memb, it can be said that they have sown the seeds of the destruction of their own organization , with some members quitting in protest over the support given her – support she expertly exploits as some kind of endorsement of her claims and allowing growth of her “brand ” .
Dr Wecht is on record as stating that he does not care whether she slept with Oswald or not – that on the batt lefield, he does not look around to see who is standing beside him – a statement that completely misses the point.
When you stand beside historical frauds, you diminish history and you diminish yourself and your reputation . The only possible “winner” will be the person you are gifting your credibility to.
My personal history with Judyth
When Judyth first went public (via proxies) , she invited researchers to send questions to test her through Martin Shackleford who , as already shown had taken her under his wing after she had failed to procure the services of any professional investigators .
==I never at any time offered to pay anybody a penny to help me. Parker is committing libel.==
I took up the challenge. I knew something no one else did – something that could not be researched to find the answer. If Judyth got it right, there could be no doubt she not only had known Oswald but was also close to him . The question I put to her is immaterial right now, as is how I came about the information it was based on . What matters here is that it was obvious Judyth did try and research the answer (and thus got it wrong) as opposed to just admitting she didn’t know. But getting it wrong did not disprove her story . As a result , and as is my usual practice, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and we began a regular exchange of emails and information. During the period we were in touch, another task I undertook was being among those trying to ensure she could get her story out without the very strong and very persistent attacks launched from Lone Nut HQ led by John McAdams and from CT HQ led by Jack White .
It seemed the right thing to do. Everyone is entitled to tell their story in full so it can be properly evaluated without being attacked for it. She has well and truly accomplished that now with three published books and numerous websites
. On that basis, she should no longer be protected from criticism, or hard questions. Our correspondence lasted about 3 years until my partner gave birth to twins in the remote city of Darwin in the tropical north of Australia. The twins came 3 months prematurely and had the usual array of issues associated with that. Additionally, our families were thousands of miles away. We were on our own – first time older parents coping with two very sick little boys. I explained to Judyth what the situation was and that we could not keep going with our correspondence.
Suddenly she was no longer lavishing me with praise (as she had been) but was now sending increasingly desperate and demanding emails wanting to know why I was ignoring her , even though I had already told her what was happening . Judyth now claims that it was not she who did that; that her email account had been hacked.
==Other people at the sme time were receiving emao\ils supposedly from me, such as Ernst Titovets, who claimed I sent him insulting emails. Dutch thieves had stolen the contents of my hard drive—Parker misinterprets what happened and said I claimed my hard drive had been stolen—but in fact, its content were stolen, and emails were created from my own emails and sent to various people, making them despise me, because I refused to send them ransom money. Prior to sending them, the thieves sent a red, ticking clock to many of my friends demanding ransom money. Of course we didn’t pay. Then came the faked emails that turned Parker and some other against me.
I LOVE people and would NEVER have set the emails he claims he received. On the contrary, I offered whatever help I could in the medical field to help him. He did not believe me, and since then, has crusaded against me.====
This was to become a common excuse she used to cover a multitude of sins . Nothing that is detrimental to her claims, or to her personally, is ever her fault, or her doing. As stated, Judyth has now got three books out. One on her alleged affair with Oswald , one on David Ferrie and one on JFK and Oswald , and over the last few years I have been able to dispassionately assess some of her claims – and the woman herself. Firstly, pockets of my research ended up in her books.
==Parker has dome some good research. So I am not allowed to use research from people who do not agree with me?===
I wish she had not done that, but unlike others who have used my material, she did at least give credit. But the main issue is that she gave a cameo role to a person whom she knew nothing about – a person whose name and background details she had obtained from me during our correspondence . That was a huge red flag. And as I now know, others have had similar experiences with her. If asked for an explanation , I have little doubt she has long refined her rote answer , dating back to her university experiences . The mention of the name/s triggered her repressed memor ies.
Another red flag is that she has omitted information on David Ferrie that had never been made public (though has been now via my own book ). This information would have been known by anyone allegedly as close to him as she claimed to be.
==Parker refers to a number of lies written by David Blackburst, a fake name used by Stephen Roy, who though he never met David Ferrie, teased information from many of his friends, then twisted it to make Ferrie into the creature he desired. He used Al Beauboeuf’s descriptions, a man who knew Dave but claims Dave was not a homosexual, plus other lies he clings to. I told the truth, which Mr. Roy tried to destroy. The book David Ferrie: Mafia Pilot pulls together all I knew and what others knew about Dave.
What Parker has done is to cling to Mr. Roy’s fabrications. But anybody who reads my book will see Roy uncovered for what he was—a tool used to diminish and change the real David Ferrie into what the CIA and FBI wanted the public to know—Mr. Roy’s version meant almost nothing true about Ferrie remained, except physical descriptions. Mr. Roy kept promising to write a book about Ferrie and so kept the entire JFK community from even thinking about writing one. I finally became disgusted with the long delay and wrote the book that reveals the truth. Mr. Roy was exposed for what he was.===
Parker: In any case, I began checking a few more of her claims. Leslie Oswald/Leslie Howard and the Scarlet Pimpernel faux pas The first one I looked at involved the claim that Oswald had told her he modelled himself on the Scarlet Pimpernel during his various assignments undercover. Here is what she stated on Face book (original capitalization kept) : HERE’S THE MEMO WHERE LEE’S FAKE NAMES ARE LISTED — AMONG THEM “LESLIE OSWALD” — AS I’VE SAID FOR YEARS, LEE ADMIRED LESLIE HOWARD (PLAYED ‘THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL AND WAS A BRITISH SPY) — AS THE BOOK ME & LEE TELLS YOU, LEE PATTERNED HIMSELF AFTER “THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL” — AND LESLIE HOWARD. NOW WE HAVE AN FBI MEMO SHOWING THIS PECULIAR NAME (FOR A MALE) WAS USED BY LEE. AND NOW YOU KNOW WHY.” As I pointed out to Judyth, the name “Leslie Oswald ” was not used by Lee Oswald. It was a clerical error in transcribing the name at the Texas School Book Depository.
==And I stood corrected. I of course do not know all the names Lee used, and it was in an FBI list of ‘aliases.’ So what? Lee admired Leslie Howard, and it would have been logical if he had used the name at some time. That this was a clerical error does not turn me into some kind of liar. I was thrilled at finding what I thought was a name that pointed to Lee’s admiration of The Scarlet Pimpernel. How and why would I ever have brought up such a name? Because Lee told me so.===
Parker: Her excuse when asked about her lapses into all caps is that her eyesight is poor. It sounds reasonable, though there are better ways around it, including using the browser zoom, or stretching the view area on her phone
==Until Dec. 2020 I never owned a phone. I got an eye operation a few years ago that saved my left eye and my vision has improved, though it’s still hard to read or type.===
Parker: The fact is, that the close observer of her over the years will note the caps only appear when she is highly excited – or highly agitated (or merely pretending to be either, for the desired effect).
===Parker keeps inserting dreadful portraits of me. Have ignored them for a long time, but he has now spread this material far and wide. Actually, after typing a long time with one eye closed, I get tired and start using caps. I also use caps when I can’t feel the ends of my fingers. And sometimes, when in a hurry, or if I’m upset, yes, I use caps. And yes, I have severe eye problems because I have double vision, and the vision in one eye is fainter and is tilted. Somehow, using caps is also a sin with Mr. Parker.==
Parker: But getting down to the content…. the above was based on her finding an FBI document which listed all of Lee Oswald’s AKAs (“also known as” or aliases). The FBI, however, was being loose with the terminology. Now go back to her Face book claim “AS I’VE SAID FOR YEARS, LEE ADMIRED LESLIE HOWARD (PLAYED ‘THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL AND WAS A BRITISH SPY) — AS THE BOOK ME & LEE TELLS YOU, LEE PATTERNED HIMSELF AFTER “THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL” — AND LESLIE HOWARD.” A google search found no trace of Judyth telling anyone about Lee’s alleged admiration for Howard. At least not in her online footprint .
That one Face book post seems to be her sole mention of it. Additionally, she made no mention of Leslie Howard in her book. I believe now however, that I do owe an apology. I accused Judyth of knowing about the FBI list of “aliases” and sitting on it, so that she could use it later as a “Eureka” moment in finding proof of her assertions (themselves inspired by the name on the list). No. Judyth apparently pulled the Pimpernel from her own imagination. After the book came out, finding the name “Leslie Oswald ” was just a stroke of luck that she was able to (rather tenuously) tie to the Pimpernel story. The problem for Judyth was as suggested here – that she had not mentioned Leslie Howard – nor the movie in which he played the Pimpernel as she claimed she constantly did. Here is what she said in the book: “Have you ever read the Scarlet Pimpernel?” Lee asked , suddenly? “Baroness Orczy’s books?” I asked. “Then you have!” he said, quite pleased. “Good.”
==Let’s see… in order for Mr. Parker to believe that Lee told me he had seen the movie, “The Scarlet Pimpernel” I had to mention not just the book, in Me & Lee, but also the movie, even though my book was heavily edited and over 100 pages of material was removed. Concerning Leslie Howard’s name, in interviews with many people, I HAD mentioned that Lee admired the actor Leslie Howard. People knew it for years. It just didn’t make it into the book. On the basis of this flimsy excuse, Parker is willing to discard me as a witness. That is sad.==
Parker: Debating Ms . Baker online is not welcome. Not by her; not by her followers and I was tag – teamed by her and her supporters. Some of the tactics used included describing my posts as inconsequential minutiae with no impact on the Big Picture. It is a tactic employed by zealots on both sides of the picket fence which seeks to obliterate the idea that the Big Picture is made entirely of tiny dot points. Pixels that when put together, show what the Big Picture is – or isn’t – a picture that is not beholden to tribalism, agendas, or the requirements of theories. One false pixel and that Big Picture is suddenly a fuzzy Polaroid being hawked and interpreted on InfoWars by Jim Fetzer . My response? If the subjects were insignificant, why were they raised for discussion by judyth and/or her supporters?

Furthermore, Parker never attended any of the 8 Conference meetings where I have gone into detail about Lee Oswald, including mentioning Leslie Howard as a role model for a fatherless Lee. Re: Defending myself…I waited for years for Mr. Parker to change his mind. Instead, he’s asked everyone to avoid me, to not support the conference, and to destroy the conference. He has attacked fine researchers, shaming them for agreeing to speak at the JFK Assassination Conference, which just held its eighth consecutive conference, much of it by Zoom.===
Parker: I also reminded them that the details are where the devil resides. That tack dead, they switched to insisting I had provided no evidence and was lying. Each time that was said, I posted the evidence again.
===Parker does not post much evidence. What he posts are declarations, such as “he” could not find this or that, and therefore, Baker is wrong. He could not find any mention of my speaking of Leslie Howard on the Internet, and only the book by Orczy was mentioned in Me & Lee, so therefore i was lying when I said lee had seen the movie and admired Leslie Howard. But many of those who have heard my lectures or met me in person knew all about Leslie Howard.
Parker (carying on): When that failed to stop the repeated requests for what had now been provided multiple times, I asked that they prove I had provided no evidence and was lying by quoting from my past posts. No one took up the suggestion. Their next tactic was nothing but sheer lunatic desperation. They tried to claim that I could not know anything about it , and nor did I have any right to debate it because I live in Australia!
==Actually, Parker claimed to know all about life in the US in the 1960’s and kept making errors. He claimed that mail at the 4905 Magazine St. apartment was delivered to 4909 because there was no mailbox for 4905. That was untrue. he just had to try to prove that 4905 received no mail, because I had said that Lee arranged for Mr. Rogers at 4907 to receive mail, to protect Lee’s pregnant Russian wife from encountering anybody who was anti-Russian (height of the Cold War). Oh, no, Parker objected. There was no such arrangement, there was no mailbox for 4905, so mail had to be delivered to 4907. Period. A few years ago, I pointed out the mailbox for 4905 when I was in New Orleans (the box was still there) and after it appeared in a photo on Facebook, it vanished.
Next, he argues that he knew how the electric meters were set up, and so why Lee had to pay for gas at 4907 when he lived at 4905. In fact, Lee paid for the gas there because Mr. Rogers was taking Lee’s mail –and even met visitors who might seek out Lee at 4907 because he had stamped flyers with the 4907 address. Old Rogers denied even speaking to Lee Oswald. Records show the Rogers were living at 4907 from July on, yet the Warren Commission Lee did not pay an overdue gas bill at 4907, even though they listed his address as 4905 most of the time.===
Parker: In short, they tried to deflect every which way, and when forced to make some sort of actual response, they simply repeated what i had already debunked , or tried to deflect by bringing up my country of residence . One other thing did come out of it. Their inability to understand documentation was probably not fake. That inability, at least some of the time, was quite genuine.

Parker: How did Lee Oswald get the job at Reily’s? According to Judyth’s book, she and Lee’s jobs at Reily’s were “prearranged”. The reality : His Aunt Lilian Murret with whom he was staying, told the Warren Commission that “… the next day, Monday, well, he went back to his job hunting again, and he continued that way until one morning he saw this job with the Riley [sic] Coffee Co., and he went down and applied and he got the job, and he came home waving the newspaper and he grabbed me around the neck, and he even kissed me, and he said, ‘I got it; I got it!'”
==Lee was not about to tell his aunt that the job was prearranged. He was very happy because both of us got hired the same day. W were thrilled to be able to work together in the cover jobs were were assigned.===
Parker: Here is the ad for the vacancy. A 1967 newspaper report further clarified that Oswald was in fact, recommended for the job by another relative – an uncle named William. Washington Post , May 5, 1967.

Parker: Where did Lee Oswald work in the first week? According to Judyth’s book, she and Lee both started at Standard Coffee at 725 Magazine St (with Reily being located at 640) on the same day – May 10. The purpose of this was to avoid a proper background check on Oswald…
==There was more to it than that. The background check was created at Standard under special circumstances so that Lee’s true background would not be checked at Reily’s. Instead, it was ‘checked’ instead, by Standard Coffee, a much smaller subsidiary where Mr. Monaghan was actually fully in charge. ==
Parker: Judyth would forge the background check (s – sic-jvb) for Standard so that one would not be requested by Reily after transferring there. The reality : Judyth relies rather heavily on the Retail Credit Bureau report which contains what we know in hindsight, is false information. She represents this false information as proof that she was the author of it. However, the FBI, during its investigation of Oswald’s background, concluded after obtaining a copy of the report and interviewing the investigator, who signed off on it, Henry Desmare, that “It appears Desmare falsified report and made no contact with anyone other than Oswald’s aunt.” The practice of falsifying credit and background reports was and is still very widespread. Desmare did nothing that was not common practice (See Bloomberg article, Federal Background Checks Faked by Some Investigators dated November 4, 2013 ) .
==Back in 1963, Retail Credit would not have stayed in business very long if it falsified background reports. This was not a government desk job matter. Further, Desmare, of all people, would not have bothered investigating a minor employee at Reily. He was a supervisor who oversaw a roomful of investigators making the background checks. He would handle only important hires, himself. He fried the big fish: his underlings would have written the report on a mere maintenance man for a sub-company of Reily. But here’s a fact, I did not know the initials of his underlings, only of one of his secretaries, so I used Desmare’s initials. Desmare could not remember writing the report because he never wrote it. Nor would he have risked losing a Reily account by faking a report, nor would he have misspelled words he used every day, spelled correctly on other reports, but which were misspelled on this one. ===
Look carefully at the wording and spelling on the bogus background report Lee and I filled out together:
Would Desmare misspell “residents” ? Would he misspell ‘personal AFFECTS’? ==
Parker: According to the story, one investigator alone filed 1 ,600 phony reports over an 18 – month period .
==This was a federal position, decades later, with little oversight. Retail Credit was a private company that had a reputation to uphold.==
Parker: Moreover, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 1973 came about partially because of reports being made up out of whole cloth. There can be no doubt that Retail Credit Bureau produced the useless background check.

The other issue arising from this is the Credit Report being done in the name of Standard Coffee Co, leading to Judyth claiming it as additional proof that Oswald commenced at Standard Coffee before transferring. What this really is, is proof that Judyth is fabricating. William B Reily & Co was the umbrella company, with Standard being the door to door sales subsidiary. Since the company did not need two separate customer codes with the Credit Bureau – it maintained only one. That code was under Standard Coffee – but it covered the whole company.

The office at 725 Magazine was simply the sales office for the Standard Coffee brand name sold to offices and homes by mobile sale staff . The main office and the coffee plant itself , was located at 640 Magazine Street. The report does state that Oswald ” is employed as a Maintenance Man for the Standard Coffee Company and has been so engaged for the past week.”
PARKER: It states “ Standard Coffee ” only because… that was the code they had for both Standard and Reily, and the Credit Bureau had no way of discerning beyond that. The big clue is he “is employed as a Maintenance Man “. The sales office at 725 simply had no need of a “Maintenance Man”. He would have been sitting around all week (or off helping in the cancer labs!).
==Parker is mistaken. Standard had its own maintenance men, separate from Reily, and Lee was hired as a maintenance man for Standard before transferring to Reily. Look at this news clipping, describing Standard’s vehicle maintenance supervisor, who was retiring from Standard after 38 years:
For several years, Parker claimed that Standard Coffee Company didn’t even exist. He finally admitted it in this screed. Now he’s trying to claim that I was hired by Standard and never transferred over to Reily’s! ==
PARKER: The credit check was finalized on the 16th and Oswald had started paid work on the 13 th after a job interview on the 9th .
==Incorrect. Lee did not start ‘paid work on the 13th‘ —he began working on May 10, and I did, too. Unlike other companies who had pay periods Monday to Friday, Reily’s pay period was Friday-Thursday. Lee did not work ‘for free’ on May 10, as Parker contends, who thinks all US companies had Mon-Fri pay periods. See time card, further down…==
PARKER: In fact, if he was employed at 725, why not just leave him there “employed” as a salesman?

Parker: That would have been a perfect cover for disappearing all day to help kill Castro. It would also have negated the need for Judyth to be employed at Reily at all, since she claims her role there was to cover for him…
==I covered for Lee, but Monaghan covered for me, as can be seen in my book. Parker over-simplifies why the cover jobs existed, Both of us needed one to provide a visible income so that our actual work was able to be conducted without suspicion. Parker ignores the fact that Lee and I both had to have a source for income that did not reveal our clandestine activities. That meant having a paycheck.
Parker: Despite her claim that they both transferred to the factory building [sic], not only is the evidence lacking that Lee ever worked in the sales office, there is no evidence that Judyth ever transferred . Which raises the issue of whether she ever even met Lee .
–No evidence? Didn;t he read my book? I have the check stub for Standard, and thereafter, they are all for Reily. Ghe checks changed because I indeed transferred over. Parker ignores this. I was “Baker” and my check was cut before moving over to Reily’ that day. Lee was “Oswald” and shortly after he moved over to Reily’s, his check was cut at Reily’s instead of at Standard, as it was later in the day (but still the same day) ==
May 16—Standard—May 24, May 31, Jun 7—the first batch of check stubs that I had scanned…. If Lee Oswald never worked at Standard Coffee, WHY did Reily’s secretary Mary Bertucci tell the FBI that Lee started work on May 15? The document below was written up by the FBI BEFORE the assassination, on Sept. 5, 1963. She hid the fact that Lee began work at Standard first, by claiming he began work on May 15. Even Parker concedes that Lee was hired before that date:
==There was no reason to state that Lee began work at Reily’s on May 15, except to hide the fact that his records (and mine) were laundered in the small company over which Mr. Monaghan presided.
Below is Lee’s time card, showing he was employed before May 15: the time card shows his employment between May 10 and May 17.
All five days are filled in for the work week. May 15 is not the start date:
When the time card was new on Friday, we’d stick it down into the slot, and it would get stamped. The first stamp each new pay week was at the bottom, where it shows “Friday.” Then on Monday, the machine would begin stamping at the top, with M-T-W-Th…The “Friday” stamp on the first card is higher up than the others (7:59 AM) on Lee’s card. It was his first use of the machine, and the time card wasn’t pushed down far enough. 7:59 was the first and only day that Lee ever got to work on time. All the rest of the eleven weeks he worked at Reily, he came in late. Of curse, Lee and I rode the same bus–the Magazine St bus–to and from work most of those eleven weeks. We got off at the same stop, in front of Reily’s. Parker tries to claim we never met, when we were one of the few white people on the bus (neither of us owned a car). Only one bus stop was between his and my bus stops. Parker tries to say we never met! I was 20, he was 23, and we both worked at the same company. Parker dares to claim we never met!

Defending the Truth
